Young Everyman Playhouse Programme- OPEN

Since its launch in 2012 Young Everyman Playhouse (YEP) has provided opportunities for young people aged 14-25, no matter their circumstances. Across six different strands, YEP encourages the young people to see theatre in a new light by asking them to create many exciting experiences for different audiences. YEP Writers is an exciting opportunity to work alongside the New Works team, professional playwrights & theatre practitioners to learn the craft of playwriting

You’ll have the opportunity to attend weekly playwriting workshops with the New Works team, professional playwrights and industry professionals. You’ll read and watch contemporary plays that help you understand new works and regional theatre. You will write a full length play for the stage with dramaturgical support from the New Works team, collaborating with other YEP strands to create new work and events.

All sessions are completely free of charge.

 

Deadline 

Applications close 3 Aug 2018 with an interviews week commencing 25 Aug 2018.

 

Entry requirements 

The Programme commitment is for two years and is open to anyone aged 18-25.

Weekly sessions take place 6pm – 8.30pm on Tuesdays in the Writers’ Room at the Everyman (Hope Street). There may be some late evenings when s and weekend workshops which are usually agreed in advance.

YEP Writers’ is a 2 year programme which takes place between September and June.

All sessions are completely free of charge.

 

To apply, the theatre ask that you complete a  short application form. In addition, they ask that you submit a monologue or short scene between three and ten pages long.
